The 2014 Stallion AI Services & Twemlows Stud Open day was a great success and raised over £3,000 for the Air Ambulance
Twenty elite UK based stallions were paraded at the Stallion AI Services & Twemlows Stud Open Day on 26th April before around 400 enthusiastic and knowledgeable visitors. All the stallions are either standing with Stallion AI services this summer or are available for collection on a “walk in” basis.
The day kicked off with Tullis Matson (MD Stallion AI Services) giving a demonstration of semen collection & assessment and Monica Morganti MRCVS (Resident Stud Veterinarian at Twemlows) a talk on embryo transfer. Tullis and Monica are amongst the most experienced in their field in Europe and there were many questions.
Then there was a chance to see the stallions in their stables and talk to the owners both before and after the stallion parade. There were more than a dozen trade stands which reported good business.
Stallion AI Services were honoured with some special guests on the day including Heather Killen – CEO and Chairman Horse & Country TV and Bernard Le Courtois & Christopher King of Haras De Brullemail in France, owners of the Olympic stallion Jaguar Mail, who kindly allowed him to stand with Stallion AI Services for the 2nd year running.
There was a silent auction for an amazing diversity of equine related lots which included stud fees for 11 stallions. Trade suppliers to Twemlows Stud had given most generously and all proceeds from the silent auction went to The West Midlands Air Ambulance.
