Steeped in Luck attained his highest placing on the World Dressage Ranking list representing the U.S.A. with FEI competitor Elisabeth Austin. The duo managed to place in the ribbons on more than one occasion at CDI Grand Prix competitions throughout the U.S.

They appeared on the FEI World Cup U.S. National Standings List and the U.S. Grand Prix Ranking List leading up to the 2018 World Equestrian Games. In 2020, their competition career was cut short by the pandemic

Nancy Jaffer, a photojournalist with Dressage Today was intrigued by an Irish Draught competing at the Dressage at Devon CDI3*. She interviewed Elisabeth Austin after their award winning Grand Prix Freestyle performance.

“He’s obviously not what you think of as a typical bred-for-dressage horse, but what’s amazing about him is he’s amazingly sound and tries very hard. He’s actually ridiculously talented for the really hard movements, piaffe, passage, pirouettes,” said Elisabeth.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am of him. He is a saint, I never worry about him spooking about things. He’s a delight to have.”
