Biography

Esmeraldo, the son of the internationally highly successful Emerald van ́t Ruytershof out of a dam of Caretino / Lord / Landgraf not only catches the eye with his extraordinary drawing. Staphan Haarhoff, the Holstein breeding director, described this exceptional young stallion as extremely typey, with an impressive attachment and outstanding quality at the jump. Sire Emerald van ́t Ruytershof won numerous Grand Prix under Harrie Smolders, was 2nd in the World Cup Final in Gothenburg and participant in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, his offspring do the same and are already successful at championships and 5* tournaments. Dam's sire Caretino was internationally successful under Bo Kristoffersen and is one of the greatest sires of Holsteiner breeding, a sire whose blood is a guarantee of willingness to perform and high rideability values. The stallions of the century Lord and Landgraf round off the pedigree. The Holsteiner line 4847 is maintained by the Meyer family: He produced the stallion Cachas and the internationally successful sport horses Cellagon Corray, Cornela, Conga LS, Quintender LS and Chacon LS. Esmeraldo not only received top marks in jumping at his licensing, but also in the evaluation of movement and breed type. He can also confirm his talent under saddle: As the outstanding winner, he can finish the aptitude test with an overall score of 8.93. The evaluation committee awarded the score of 9.0 and better four times. The canter was rated with a 9.0; rideability with a 9.2 and jumping facility as well as willingness to perform even with a score of 9.3. Even at the age of 4, he confirmed this result on the occasion of his sports test. The judges awarded an 8.8 for his rideability, an 8.5 each for the canter and jumping, an 8.6 for the overall impression. A complete stallion that combines the best characteristics of the Holstein horse. Esmeraldo's first crop of foals has fulfilled all expectations: with a very broad mare base, he can uniformly put his stamp on his offspring. Correct, with harmonious lines, a good attachment, ultra-modern and equipped with a bit of colour, his offspring score as winners at foal shows and price peaks at auctions all over Europe.
