Biography

Awarded premium stallion as a 4-year-old with 9 in overall impression. Passed his performance test with 861 points, with a 9 in walk, 9 in canter and 10 in vet check. Spotilas received the highest grades of all in free jumping, 8 in technique and 8 in capacity at his breeding approval. In addition to a fantastic movement in all 3 gaits, he also has a fantastic temper. Spotilas is a unique combination of the world’s best dressage stallion and one of the best Knabstrupper mare lineages. Spotilas is the only Danish graded son of the world famous Totilas! Spotilas' father, legendary Totilas, is a World Championship 3 x Gold winner as well as EC and World Cup winner, who under Edward Gal set 3 world records - and became the first horse to surpass the magical 90% in dressage! Totilas has also shown his worth both as a sire of prized stallions and successful grand prix horses. These include Glock's Toto Jr. who like his father is successful in both breeding and sport as well as Total US who was No. 6 at the Olympics in 2020. Totilas is the stallion with the most offspring (11 pts) represented on the longlists for the Olympics in Paris 2024. In 2023 Totilas was placed no. 1 on Horsetelex and no. 4 on the WBFSH ranking for dressage stallions. The damside includes the best sporting stud lines as well as 3 of the 4 historic bloodlines. The successful Rasmus af Damgaard is 2x in the pedigree, i.e. line breeding with this dressage Knabstrupper stallion. Among the descendants of this founding stallion are several Grand Prix horses and many Medium and S Level horses. Olympic gold winner in para dressage GP stallion Zanko (Ann Cathrin Lubbe) must be mentioned in particular, as well as both gold and several times silver winner at para-Olympics Lukas af Noerhede (Anne Dunham). Spotilas’ damside also includes the medal-stallion Conetti Lynghoej by Aleksander OLH and the gold medal stallion Apollon KNN. Spotilas’ damsire Bjoernhoejgaard's Sleipner was best stallion at his breeding approval as a 3-year-old. He was approved with 8 in overall impression and received two x 9 in free jumping. Spotilas is developing very promisingly as a sports horse. In 2023, he was fully approved in the warmblood and sport horse association AES. The selection committee in AES sees great potential in Spotilas and gave the following description: "We are positively surprised by the stallion. With his distinctive markings and excellent movement, he is a valuable addition to our studbook. He shows a great willingness to work, moves freely through his body and appears as a promising sports horse for the future.
