Centrifuge

Centrifugation is an important step when processing semen. The main purpose of the centrifuge is to remove the seminal plasma out of the sample, which would otherwise have a toxic effect on the sperm cells, allowing the semen longevity and quality to be improved, in turn, improving pregnancy rates. Centrifugation can also improve the concentration of the sperm, specifically in situations where a stallion gives a lower number of cells per ml of semen, meaning that a more accurate dose can be sent to mare owners.
